Justin Han

Justin Rui Han (b. 1999, Rochester, USA) is an artist whose work draws on direct observation, film stills, and wide-ranging archival materials. He earned his BFA in Painting from the Rhode Island School of Design in 2022. In his paintings and interdisciplinary works, disparate beings, objects, and architecture coalesce into autonomous systems. Recently, his work has also sought to contest amnesias, specific to colonial histories of science and infrastructure.

Han has exhibited at The Artist Room, London; HARPER’s, Los Angeles, and RAINRAIN, New York, among others. He has been the recipient of residencies through the Here and There Collective, the Vermont Studio Center, and the Sharpe Walentas Studio Program
